To the romance that is Kolkata:
The journey to the metro city wasn’t the usual routine for me. It was a journey to the cheer, joy, happiness, rejoice, felicity, to witness the aroma that would never fade away, to the entrancing walks through the roads, to the absorbing flavors of the street food, to the serene ferry through the calm water across the stretch of the steel structure and to the adventure of being out for the first time alone a city running more quickly than the passengers travelling through the subways at the Howrah Station.
Oh Yes! This is the insanely renowned spot for which the city of joy is probably most famous for – The Howrah Bridge aka Rabindra Setu !
The source of the destination: Howrah Bus Depo
And the only time for you to rush through the 40 foot wide but extremely busy roads!!
“Something very new, interesting and unique thing, look what I have found for you to be amazed at”, a child exclaimed to his friend while discovering a fresh world at Indian Museum.
Ahh! The preaching follow you everywhere. Be reminded of your work sans reasoning it. @The Great Indian Museum
So, guess when, where and how was it produced. For me the only thing important is the price it must be carrying for the history lovers.
The memorial of many couples too!
History on wheels, grab the enjoyment of travelling slower but historical at just 5 rupees. You never know when the decision is taken to call them off the roads – ‘Calcutta’ Tram
Spectator of some high voltage matches and lots of memories, the famous being the India-Australia test match of 2001.
Kolkata Streets are perfect blend of ancient ‘windowy’ buildings and the modern air conditioned offices.
Kolkata Metro : Yes! It doesn’t look like the normal train and neither like the well furnished Paris to Amsterdam rail on wheels.
‘Footket’, ever heard of such game. Well, neither had I until I coined the term discovering the play. Feel free to make your own rules for the game once you decide to have some pagalpanti.
This was the day when I did boating after a long gap of 13 years and yes I enjoyed it. @Nicco Park
Never knew, paani-poori is such a hit in Kolkata too. Do have share of yours once you hit the metro city.
And the city is still growing to seemingly infinite boundary.
I could never figure out what the letters written on tickets actually stand for. For me the only meaning was to keep holding them till I step out of the bus at the destination.
This is where I started my journey to the streets of Kolkata. Bid-adieu. বিদায় (bidāẏa) to the romance that is Kolkata.
